Internet Matters

Internet Matters is a not-for-profit organisation highlighting the importance of parental controls in the digital world. It is backed by the industry’s biggest broadband providers – BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin Media. It urges parents to play an active role in keeping their children safe online and its series of powerful video clips clearly demonstrate the real risks to children of being able to use the internet without parental controls.

Other safeguarding websites for parents

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre is a command in the National Crime Agency. It provides information and advice for parents, carers and guardians; children and young people; teachers and educational professionals; and numerous professional bodies.

Tackling the exploitation and abuse of children cannot be achieved by working in isolation and CEOP works in collaboration with numerous partners and stakeholders, whose websites also hold valuable advice. Links to all these organisations are listed on the CEOP site. We recommend that all parents visit the CEOP website at:  https://www.ceop.police.uk/safety-centre/
