Joining us is easy

Entry to Kingsmead is accepted at every level and throughout the year.

Pupils can join the following stages:

Kindergarten: Age 2-3
Nursery: Age 3-4
Reception: Age 4-5
Juniors: Year 4 to Year 6
Seniors: Year 7 to Year 11
Sixth Form: Year 12 & Year 13

Visiting in person is the best way to find out more about the school and all that is available and there are many opportunities for prospective parents and their children to see Kingsmead’s facilities and grounds and to meet key members of staff.

We have regular open days and evenings throughout the school year and we are happy to arrange individual visits between these dates. Headmaster Mark Gibbons meets parents by appointment to talk about their child and discuss what Kingsmead can offer. The possibility of a scholarship – available in Academics, Music, Sport and Art and offering up to 50% reduction of tuition fees – can also be explored at this time.

Kingsmead operates within the Early Years funding for 3 and 4 year olds, providing 15 Universal funded hours per week.

We arrange introductory days and ensure that each child is 100% relaxed and comfortable with the transition to a new school environment.

“The Infant Department is so friendly and welcoming. The staff make a real effort to ensure that the children settle in quickly and are happy. Because of this, my son is always excited to go to school and goes running in every day.”
