Some of our senior pupils travelled to St George’s Hall Liverpool for the latest LJMU Roscoe lecture, which forms part of our Gifted and Talented provision at school. The lecture was given by Andrea Leadsom, Leader of the House of Commons with a focus on the #MeToo scandal. Mrs. Leadsom spoke about her experiences in the Banking sector and then as an MP. She said Parliament had a chance to show true leadership over the #MeToo scandal. So a cross party consensus has been established to set up an Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme. The seven parties were determined the ICGS could “be the change we want to see” and challenge the status quo. The students enjoyed the lecture and the discussion which followed on the way back to school.
