Mrs S Hepworth

Department: Head of Juniors

Mrs Hepworth was born and educated in Yorkshire before moving to Norfolk to study for a degree in German and Modern History at the University of East Anglia.

She worked initially in retail management on a mobile basis, taking in places as diverse as Nottingham, London, Leeds and Sheffield.

In 1993 Mrs Hepworth undertook a career change and re-trained as  a teacher at the University College of Ripon and York St John.

After a variety of experience in the local primary education scene, she accepted a post at Kingsmead where she has been able to teach the full age range from two – 16, and had the chance to share one of her major interests with older students - mountain walking expeditions via the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

Married to Yorkshireman David, himself a pastoral leader at a Wirral secondary school, they have a son William who attends Kingsmead. The family are Christians, worshipping at St Andrew’s Church in Bebington.

Mrs Hepworth enjoys her work at Kingsmead because it demands that she applies Christian principles to the daily decisions affecting her leadership of a major department of the school as well as at Senior Management level.
