The Kingsmead Community

Many of the visitors who come to Kingsmead for Open Days or for other events comment on the quality of the young people they meet… and they are right to do so - our pupils are our finest asset.

The adults within the school community are drawn from many walks of life, and all come to Kingsmead with a richness of experience and much to offer all our children. Working together, the children and the adults create the community which makes Kingsmead so special.

But they are not alone in this… Kingsmead has many friends.

The Friends of Kingsmead is an association focussed on supporting the work of the school through enriching the lives of those who study, live and work there. They organise great social events and raise money for many different projects.

Our former pupils complete the picture. We keep in close touch, eagerly hearing of changes and developments in their lives. This sense of family ensures that many ‘OK’s’ return and make their own contribution to our continued success. They support us, they tell others about us and many go on to send their own children to us in their turn. There can be no finer compliment, or recommendation…
