Department: Head of English
Mrs Hepworth teaches English and RE in the Senior Department, with a particular interest in poetry, Shakespeare and creative writing.
She is a practising Christian, worshipping with her family at St Luke’s Church in Hoylake. However, having grown up in a very multi-cultural society in Bradford, West Yorkshire, she is also keen to encourage students to develop broader understanding of other world faiths in her teaching of RE.
Interests include the outdoors and theatre. Mrs Hepworth has directed a number of school drama productions over the years, including ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Oh, What a Lovely War!’ Her love of the outdoors has led her to organise regular school ski trips and initiate the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award at the school, which has an excellent record of enabling several students each year to finish their Silver Award before they leave the school at 16.
Mrs Hepworth is a keen supporter of all that the school offers, especially in enriching the broader curriculum and teaching the ‘soft skills’ which help our students thrive in the wider world. Her own son, William, was at the school from the age of 3 to 16.
