Mrs Higgs grew up in West Kirby and studied for her degree in Manchester, gaining her BA (Hons) in Textile Design from Manchester Polytechnic. She worked freelance for a year before being given the exciting opportunity to teach Art at Marlborough College in Wiltshire. She stayed there for 2 years before returning to the North West to gain her PGCE in Secondary Art and Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. She then worked for 5 years at Clough Hall School in Kidsgrove before becoming Head of Art at Bishop Heber High School in Cheshire. After 6 years she left to have her family, and from 2009 she has taught Art/Textiles part-time at Wirral Metropolitan College.
Mrs Higgs started teaching Art at Kingsmead in 2014 and now teaches the full range of senior classes. She is passionate about developing confidence and creativity in all pupils.
She still likes to draw, paint, print and stitch and occasionally has artwork in local exhibitions. Her other passions are walking in the countryside with her family and dog, cooking, going to the theatre and reading novels.
