Originally from Chester, Mrs Gelder completed a French and Textile Marketing Degree at Huddersfield University. This gave her the opportunity to work for a large textile company in France for a year and become a fluent French speaker.
Following graduation, she worked in Bradford in sales and training roles. This led her to train as a teacher and she completed her PGCE at Warwick University.
Mrs Gelder’s first teaching post was in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, before returning to the northwest to get married.
She has taught in Wirral for a number of years and is “passionate” about teaching French at Kingsmead.
She loves going to France and has explored most parts of it with family and French friends. She spends most summer holidays in France with her own family. Aside from being a devoted Francophile, Mrs Gelder enjoys making cakes, walking her dog, going to the gym and being a committee member of her local swimming club.
