An Independent Day
and Boarding School
for Boys and Girls
aged 2 - 16

Kingsmead is a Christian school welcoming children of all faiths, and none. Each day the whole school meets for morning prayers in groups appropriate to the children's age (boarders have their own lively service each weekend).
We strongly encourage individual thinking about the world in which we live. All children are free to share their own views and we expect mutual respect and understanding from everyone.
Just as in any family, we value all the children equally and we work to discover and develop each one's gifts, interests and strengths. Every child who joins Kingsmead is encouraged to discover and develop their own gifts - and to recognise and value the differing talents of others within the school.
We see small classes, dedicated teachers and caring pastoral support as essential in creating the stable, friendly and safe environment which serves the needs of each age group; Kingsmead provides a healthy atmosphere in which order and sensible discipline prevail.
All pupils help support and cherish three children who live in the developing world, and come to understand more fully how very different their own lives are as they progress up the school. (Learn more about Allysa, Hakizimana and Surajit by going to the Compassion page here). In addition, we support many charities and causes as well as contributing to our own community - raising term by term our children's understanding and collective concern for others.
At the end of their time with us, we want our children to leave with a clear view of what is right and wrong, with an awareness of others.
We work very hard to ensure our pupils leave us prepared for life.
