An Independent Day
and Boarding School
for Boys and Girls
aged 2 - 16

Kingsmead's 2008 Sports Day, showcasing the athletic prowess of junior and senior students alike, drew a big crowd of enthusiastic supporters on an overcast and sometimes breezy Hoylake afternoon.
It was Hilbre House who took the coveted trophy, the news being announced by Headmaster Jonathan Perry to rousing cheers from the winners, and sporting applause from the close runners-up, Royden and Ness.
There were many fine performances and close finishes including a win for Kingsmead star athlete Richard Evans, selected to represent Wirral in the forthcoming Merseyside games, in the 1500 metres.
Certificates, medals and trophies were handed out by Kingsmead parent Mrs Caroline English, whose own children featured among the many worthy winners.
Director of P.E. Mr Phillips, who had again organised the day with his usual aplomb, was delighted by the sportsmanship on display. "There can only be one winner in each event" he said, "but the spirit among the competitors was terrific. It was a superb day's athletics!"
