An away fixture to Ramillies Hall for a triangular tournament versus Ramillies and Beech Hall started a run of very satisfying results for our U13s recently.

At the beginning of the tournament, for all Kingsmead’s dominance and our many shots on target, we failed to make our possession count and finally ran out narrow 1-0 winners against Ramillies. In our second game, against Beech Hall, we controlled the play with a great tempo and teamwork and attacked with real purpose. Patience was the key, rewarding us with three excellent goals.

We took our momentum into our next game, which was at home to Ruthin. We had been beaten away earlier in the season – 6-2 – and had a score to settle.

Boy, did we deliver! Kingsmead kept their shape well and performed together as a team. Ruthin had chances but Harry Johnston, Kingsmead’s no 1, was in fine form. Bill Magee captained the team with real enthusiasm and gave the lads so much encouragement.

A top performance, winning the game 3-0 and making this coach proud indeed!
