You’ve heard of the four “peeks” challenge, well our pupils have completed the five turrets challenge at Conwy!
The trip was part of their investigation into Edward I and his reasons for building an impregnable chain of castles in North Wales. Pupils were treated to an expert tour by local historian, Neil Hilton, before conducting their own fieldwork examination of the castle’s many defensive features.
Their conclusion? Only the very brave – or the very foolish – would have even thought about attacking such a fortress…
