There were quite a few red faces – er, we mean noses – around Kingsmead this week.

Red noses were on sale all week and all departments in the school took part in fundraising on Red Nose Day itself. The Infants wore non-uniform; the Juniors wore red socks, ties and/or hair accessories;
and the Seniors wore trainers and let their hair down too.

Form 7A had a cake sale with cakes donated by them and the senior Department which raised over £88. All together the school raised £355.30, which is enough to:

  • vaccinate 88 children against five childhood diseases; or
  • give two families living on a rubbish dump in Sierra Leone a business start-up grant and accommodation to start a new life; or
  • enable 35 isolated elderly people with dementia to attend a local support group.

Huge thanks to everyone for their support – whichever way the money we all raised is spent, it is going to make a huge difference to a lot of people.
