Yesterday, the Year 5s went on an epic adventure back in time to become Anglo Saxons and Vikings for a day.
We all learned a great deal and the staff at Tatton Hall were excellent. They seem to have recruited a rather fierce character – known as Harold the Blood Axe – who spent the day trying to train the children to stalk deer, form a shield wall, fire a bow and arrow and much more. I say “trying” as some (boys, you know who you are) were less accomplished than others at some of the tasks!
The day taught me that I would definitely cower behind the girls’ shield wall if I were under attack.
We managed to dodge the showers and we had a super day. I will let the pictures tell the story…
