We thought it would be useful to clarify the charges for support from the LDU Department.
A termly course of ten one-to-one lessons in the LDU cost £205 per term and a termly course of twenty one-to-one lessons cost £360 per term. Staff try to ensure that your child receives those lessons, but if not, they are charged pro-rata.
If your child needs a scribe or reader in exams, you will be charged at the rate of £7.50 per hour in the bill following the term in which the exams were taken. As a guide, on average over the course of an academic year, pupils have circa 30 hours of exams.
Some children perform better if they do an exam on their own without additional support. However, those that require support during the GCSEs, and there is a need to employ an extra invigilator, the cost for this support may be charged. During internal school exams there will no charge for invigilation.
If your child has a Learning Support Assistant funded by your Local Authority who is timetabled to support your child at the time of the exam, you will not be charged for a reader or a scribe.
