16 March 2017: Open Morning activities
Our Junior department children have been displaying their team work in culinary skills and engineering to the families visiting our Open Morning. Activities included baking cheese scones and using construction kits to build a tower with a moving drawbridge.
The cooking took place in the Food and Nutrition classroom and adjoining area, which were developed for the use of our GCSE students but which are also available to the whole school to enjoy using.
The pupils were showing off – in the best possible sense of the word – their school and its happy atmosphere. The news that Kingsmead has achieved the best GCSE results in Wirral among non-selective schools has been an understandable draw and Saturday morning was filled with interest and activity for the families considering a Kingsmead education. However, not only families with an eye on their children’s GCSE hopes came – children of all ages visited and enjoyed seeing all we have to offer their stages of their education, too.
Enquiries are always welcome, but the next planned event is an Open Evening on Thursday May 11 at 5.30pm.
