The day finally arrived for the Year 3 and 4 trip to Tatton Hall. But where were they? They had been replaced by a rather fierce-looking group of Anglo Saxon and Viking farmers and warriors.
The pink cheeks and hands betray it was a day of snow and biting wind, but even these – and the threat of attack at any moment from marauding tribes – didn’t dampen their enthusiasm.
By the end of the day the children could certainly put themselves in the shoes of the Anglo Saxons – and that is what history is all about.
